  1. I would love to have this book on my coffee table because I so love to learn more about designers of other countries! I love to compare the Belgian design with the design of other countries and to discover the influences of both! And a second reason is that some project of one of my favorite bloggers and designers TRACERY INTERIORS is featured in this book!

  2. my first trip to 30A was spring of 1999, for our honeymoon. we stayed at josephines, dined at bud & alley’s at sunset, danced at red bar , and shopped perspicasity’s. i was completely smitten with seaside…they had me the moment we drove in.
i just returned from the seaside half marathon. i’m just as smitten today as i was in ’99.
while much has changed along 30A, we love vacationing there each summer & seeing all the newness.
alys beach & rosemary are stunning.
    seaside is charming.
grayton is laid back & casual.
while my home is in atlanta, my heart stays along the beaches of 30A

  3. I love 30A. I live here, run my business here, and my life is so full of joy because of 30A. It was always my dream to live the 30A life growing up in a small town in Alabama. As a child vacationing here I dreamed of spending all of my days here on the beautiful beaches. After 4 years of the hubby and I chasing big career dreams out in the San Francisco Bay area we packed up, bought our house cross country sight unseen, and are now living our dream life amongst family, friends, and neighbors. People who visit us who have never been here just stare in awe at the scenic beauty and friendliness of locals. We just smile big and say “welcome to paradise”.

  5. One of the many, many reasons I love 30A is because of the sense of community you feel in each and every town along the coast. Even though each is unique in its own way, one thing remains the same and that is the hospitality you feel from the locals and guests alike. The beautiful beaches, awesome food and great shopping don’t hurt either!

  6. There is nothing about 30A that I don’t love. Both of my sisters have homes in Seagrove, and I love visiting.
The beaches are absolutely stunning, and the lack of fast food restaurants and chains is wonderful. The local restaurants are wonderful, being elegant but casual enough for nice beachwear.
Now to the shopping… LOVE. There are so many beautiful specialty shops in each area.
The most wonderful thing about 30A is the quaintness and friendly people. It is a group of small beaches with a hometown atmosphere.
The designers included in this book are the cream of the crop. I am from the same hometown as Bobby McALpine, and I am familiar with most of the designers.
Would love to add this beautiful book to my collection.

  7. I discovered Tracery a little over a year ago and love keeping up with them through their blog. I am a design junkie and love seeing all their beautiful projects and great items in their online shop. 30A Style sounds wonderful. I live near the beach in New England and I’m always looking for inspiring ways to update our home. Some day I hope to get down to 30A to experience it for myself!

  8. We had always been Sandestin lovers, but as fate would have it, we decided to “try somewhere different”. Different is what we got! We fell so in love with the laid back- take it easy- no worries- atmosphere of 30a that we bought a place in Seagrove a few years ago. The sense of community is as important to visitors as it is to those that live here year round. We are currently looking for the perfect spot to build our “forever” home so that we always have a piece of this paradise called 30a.

  10. 30A for me is a place to rest, relax and recharge. I have been visiting Seagrove & the surrounding areas of 30A after discovering it three years ago. It never ceases to delight and amaze me.

I enjoy taking long walks on the beach and also discovering new shops, restaurants and fun places to explore. I would love to add this gorgeous book to my collection, so that I can continue to dream of retirement in the area in the future.

    With much gratitude,

  12. 30A creates a fairy princess world…..precious shops, outstanding food, interesting people, & spectacular sunsets are my favorites. I do love the architecture that is developing as well as the town management. It is nice to not have a CVS or a Wal mart thrown in there. 30A remains quaint and fabulous! I spent last week at Aspri Villa and ate most meals at George’s! The food is perfect and the staff knows how to please! Oh, and the beaches are the best along the coast and the sunsets take you away every afternoon. 30A is perfection!

We have watched 30-A grow from a sparsely populated area to a thriving, its happening place.. I love the air, the water, the sky, the colors and the special peace & joy that comes to me when I am at this beach.. The people are great, everyone is in a good mood.. and why would they not be.. I feel the celebration in the air wherever I travel along 30-A.. A most magical and special place.. Wonderful food, interesting shops and some really outstanding designers and architects that have left their mark and inspire us all.. Creativity at its best- comes from experiencing life on 30-A..

  15. 30A has it all. So much, that when you are there, you can almost forget to go to the beach. Or if weather or the water isn’t quite perfect, there is so much to do. But it’s also a place where you can unwind and do as little as you want but still have a wonderful time. Strolling through all the beach communities whether by foot or bike is one our favorite things to do. Adding another 30A book to my library will help me make it through my busy life until time for another visit. Idyllic.

  16. 30-A has been our family’s vacation destination almost every summer since 1958. We stayed in houses off the beach at first, then had our first taste in a beachfront house, and couldn’t imagine going anywhere else. As our family has grown to include all 6 of our children, and now grandchildren and great grandchildren, we won’t settle for any other location. We love 30-A!!!

We have been just getting out and about since “season” has hit here, and started meeting people, and what a wonderful group of people we are blessed to call neighbors! I would love to surprise my wife with the book, as she picked it up just yesterday in a little shop down in the Rosemary Beach area….anyways even if i dont win it, im honored to call 30A our home!

With that in mind, my husband thought we needed a new project and new condo to help with the sadness when he leaves. We visited 30A for the 1st time in years this past January. Fell in LOVE with the area and are in the process of closing on a unit on Grayton Beach!!! So excited we can’t stand it. We will be there tomorrow to start working with contractors to make some changes prior to move in date.

This coffee table book would be a wonderful new addition to our new home!!! We would display it proudly!!! Can’t wait to be there tomorrow!!!

The unique communities of 30A, the people, the sun, sand, wildlife and the blue-green Gulf of Mexico soothe my soul and leave me feeling refreshed and energized until my next visit. There is just something about the place that cannot be put into words but must be experienced.

  28. You know the James Taylor song, “Gone to Carolina in My Mind”, that’s how I feel about 30-A. I’ve grown up coming to the Santa Rosa Beach/30-A area my whole life. Just like growing up, things change and evolve. I have seen 30-A change from the unknown stretch of beach road with tiny beach cottages and sand dunes to the vibrant area we know today. Though the style of homes and interiors have evolved over the years, it’s still the same relaxed, happy lifestyle I’ve always known. It’s that lifestyle of 30-A that is so special.
When I can’t be at the beach and life gets complicated, all I have to do is go to 30-A in my mind…

  29. I love 30A because it nurtures my soul. There is nothing like a gorgeous sunset off 30A. From the beach the view is sunset, gorgeous emerald water, beach, and beautiful homes—not indiscriminite high-rises. I go there in my mind everyday, but visit several times a year. Last summer we were able to stay for over a month on one visit. We enjoyed so many of the wonderful shops and restaurants. 30A is all-encompassing beauty at every angle; from the nature, architecture, people and stories, 30A has it all.

We stayed in a guest house at Seaside, ate our way along the coast, and shopped to my heart’s content. (We even found a few treasures for the nursery that are in our daughter’s room to this day!) While our new home in Michigan has it’s amazing great lakes and thousands of miles of beauty, 30A will always have a special place in my heart…

My daughter and my father have nightly yogurt at Dawsons while my mom and my and I walk the shops after dinner with my husband. We love to drive around and see how much it has changed in all the years we have been coming and all the magnificant houses being built. 30A is definatley apart of me and always will be. 42. Why do I love 30A?

    Because…

    It’s my ‘not-so-secret’ love affair.

The simple elegance of the way you can enjoy an ice cream cone while ‘scrunching’ the amazingly soft grass under your wiggling toes at Barrett Square.

The little dash of European touches added here and there to be wonderfully discovered.

Watching and hearing each wave of the Emerald waters as they come ashore, rinsing my mind of any termoil and replacing it with complete tranquility & ease.

Artistic flow is alive and breathing thoroughout 30A to connect with and become a part of.

Most importantly, I love the way 30A gets under your skin and into your heart, becoming a part of your soul. Setting my desktop and homepage to pictures of this amazing paradise to both comfort and tantilize, all the while compelling me to return as soon as possible.

Ahh, 30A. I’ll be back soon! XOXO

  44. I love 30A for its pure white sand, sparking water, funky beach towns, bike path and sense of community. We first discovered 30A when my youngest was going into kindergarten and now she is getting ready to graduate from high school. We have been coming every summer and two of our favorite places are Modica market and Sundog books. We would all go to Sundog books to visit Patty and I will admit that I shed tears when I heard she had died because she was part of our lives. A trip to Modica market was not not complete until we saw Mr. Modica and if he wasn’t there we would keep going back until we saw him. The sense of community is so strong that we actually feel like we belong there even though we are only there one week a year. From the minute we discovered 30A I have always wanted to live there and having been saving our pennies ever since. We are now trying to buy a home in Seagrove and even though it looks like it is going to be a long process, I am keeping the faith that we will be there sooner rather than later!

  47. We are about to spend our 4th nonconsecutive Easter at Seaside and I am beyond excited! We’ve stayed in Seaside or Watercolor a half dozen times and all of those times rank as our best trips ever. Our first visit to Seaside was when our oldest was 2 and our second child was 6 months and we brought my mother and two aunts along to help. Those memories of a first vacation together with our young children and extended family will forever be cherished. Now we go with all 4 of our kids and our close friends. Even though we purchased a beach house near our former residence in Jacksonville, Florida, I still negotiate an annual trip to 30A with my husband because “a Jacksonville Beach house is just not the same as Seaside”. The only thing stressful about such a trip is deciding which “neighborhood” to stay in (Seaside or Watercolor and now, Rosemary Beach or Alys Beach) and then which house. And, although you see a few pictures of the chosen home before the trip, arriving and walking in for the first time is like opening presents on Christmas morning. The beautiful, charming, eclectic design and architecture that surrounds you is just as special as the sparkling blue water and white sandy beaches. I’m so glad that I found your blog (just 30 minutes ago!). Now I’ll be able to “visit” 30A much more than once a year!

  51. I’ve never been to 30A before, but daydream about it often. It pains me to think that just a few hours away from the hustle, bustle, traffic and daily stresses of my life here in the Orlando, FL metropolitan area exists a place so quite the opposite. A place where architecture, interior design, and landscape planning actually matter. Where it is not all gas stations, strip malls, and used car dealership strewn about.

And as an avid enthusiast of New Urbanism architecture, 30A holds a special place in my heart for the mere facts of what it has done to change the architecture state of the world for the better. Its influence is far-reaching and indescribable.

The pictures I’ve seen of 30A truly do speak a thousand words, and these are among the words that come to mind: Easter egg blue water, napkin white sand that softly squeaks beneath the weight of my bare feet, towering palms that sway in gentle breezes and provide temporary shelter from unceasing bright sun rays which illuminate the surrounding nature, towns, and people.

All of this helps form a backdrop to one of the most architecturally significant slices of Florida. A place where design – both inside and out – is as important as food and water. A detail-oriented mecca that features a cornucopia of harmony, peace and happiness. A destination of old-fashioned Americana. A spit of sand showcasing life as it was meant to be – should be.

30A is not a fantasy. It is a reality. And I hope one day – sooner, rather than later – that it will be my reality. Until that can be possible, I’d like to have this book help me substitute being in 30A. Although it will most certainly be nothing like the real thing, I know it will continue along the same path as other collections of 30A images have, what with painting pastel pictures in my mind of premier paradisaical pursuits in a magical place known colloquially as 30A.

    One day, 30A. One day.

    =)
