Silver bells…

…..silver wreaths, mercury glass and bright twinkly lights!  It’s a glamor girls’ Christmas dream in Seagrove Beach, FL this year.  Paige, Kristina & me {hi-it’s Bess!} had a great time playing Santa’s helpers last week.  We cranked up my favorite Pandora Christmas station, Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas is You,’ and worked a little holiday magic.

The wreaths are made of live magnolia leaves that were painted silver, just like the red wreath on the front of our Rosemary Beach shop.  No craft time here-we ordered the wreaths as is.  I’m sure I would have a new pair of ‘silver’ flats if we had opted to paint them ourselves 🙂

The tree contains a mixture of ornaments from Tracery and a few of our other favorite retailers {Anthropologie & Restoration Hardware to name a few}.  At night the white twinkly lights hit everything just right and man does this tree SPARKLE!

Hope everyone is having  a great week &  Happy Holidays,

Photo shoot

Hi! Happy Monday after Thanksgiving! Last week before the turkey we had a photo shoot with Better Homes and Gardens. They came to Rosemary Beach to shoot a home AK and I designed for a great family from Atlanta. It is always fun to be a part of a photo shoot. This one was no exception. Paige is from the magazine and is an all around a wonderful person……Not confusing at all having 2 Paige’s together in one room! Michael the stylist was great…. We really enjoyed getting to know him. Edmund the photographer was capturing the house perfectly. Then last but not least Derek and Staci were so sweet to come down with their family and open their home to all of us. It takes a team to pull it all together! I can’t wait to see it in print! Here are a few pics from the shoot. Of course you will have to wait on the magazine to see the finished product.

Have a great Monday!

Thanksgiving Style Session and Give away at Simply Seleta

Seleta and I like to get together and design our style sessions…. sometimes we get busy and there is a large lapse of time between them.  But never fear we completed our Thanksgiving table style session.  Have you ever been over to see Seleta?  If not it is a must in the blog world.  Seleta and I love holiday table settings and a great way to add a little design in your life.

I LOVE Thanksgiving.  Family, friends, yummy food, great conversations, and taking time to remember what you are thankful for.  This year around 28 people will be coming to our house for thanksgiving.  It will be loud and lots of fun!  I just bought my turkey.  I am going back through my recipes and baking plan (I actually do one counting backwards from serving time).  Seleta and I finished my Thanksgiving table early so we could share it with all of  you.  My dining room table is staying set like this until the big day (yes, we are eating at the coffee table).  Here are a few shots from our style session

These snuff bottles are from one of my favorite flea markets.  My mom is the best flea market-er (is that a word?) and I love when she introduces me to one of the great ones.

Don’t forget to head over to Seleta’s blog for the entire session with more photos.

I am so excited to get started cooking.  My other passion besides design is cooking for people I love.  If you ever want to read some of my recipes head over to my food blog… The farmer’s daughter  it is a fun place for me to share some of my love for the kitchen.  And, yes I am a farmer’s daughter.  We grew peanuts, cotton, corn, soy beans on the farm.  We raised pigs in the 80’s and my grandfather raised chickens and cows.  All around a farm girl.  My recipes are always with a southern twist.  So take a look and let me know what you think.

I am thankful for my life and all the wonderful family and friends I get to share it with.

Party, Elvis, the Ozarks, and Christmas

Hi everyone! Whew…. What a week. Bess and I first went to Missouri for an install. It is pretty in the ozarks this time of year.
Here are a few pics of our trip there…(including the first fire I have ever started that actually worked)

Then on our way out of town we got to fly out with Elvis… Therefore I still have Elvis singing in my head!

Then as Bess went back to the beach I headed to Birmingham. Last night was the sponsor party for the Birmingham Home & Garden Inspiration Home we designed. The house opens to the public tomorrow… Head here to find out more. I took a few I phone shots at the party last night. We wanted to share these with you…

And last but not least doug and I are Christmas decoration shopping for clients this afternoon. (don’t worry doug is driving as I an typing this post). We are mixing some decorations from Tracery with these we found at Restoration Hardware and Anthro…. (I love Christmas!). So excited to see it come together!

Then we got silly…. This is my Rachel Zoe look. What do you think? I was sick a few weeks back and watched 2 seasons of Rachel and her crew… This is what I would look like if I were channeling her!

I do love my sunnies!

Happy Thursday! We have to get ready in a minute for another event tonight. Excited to wear my new outfit I picked up at Anthro while out shopping!
