Traditional Home September issue!

We are so excited to share with you all that we are featured in the September issue of Traditional Home!! Check out the home of Stephanie Carter. She is a client and a friend and we had so much fun on this project in Seagrove and look forward to more fun projects in the future(we’ve been talking about some fun ones!). She is an incredible mom, friend and fashion designer and just exudes creativity. We had lots of fun brainstorming ideas for her family home. The home before was a 70’s home with teal green carpet no details and mirrors glued to the walls to laminate floors and countertops. We had lots of fun taking that dreary looking home and creating this! So pick up the issue on news stands (we are page 112-121).

I hope you enjoy reading more about this home!

P.S. Also check out page 26 where I along with some amazing designers talk about screens in the our Designers Say…. Section of the magazine.

Revisit: 2012 Southern Living Idea House

Hi all! We are working on our website so I have been going through lots of photos of past projects. I found some photos that we had not shared with all of you and we wanted to share. We had so much fun designing this home. The team was so much fun and was so talented which made the project that much better. I will have a few more posts like this as I find more photos to share with all of you.

This beautiful painting is by artist Mallory Page. The painting  paired with an antique chest and a collection of white serving pieces we found at antique shops and flea markets were just the perfect addition to the master bedroom.

This little detail appeared in the main stair hall.  I loved this trophy collection so much it now resides in my own living room.  The dear painting by a local 30A artist Justin Gaffrey was the perfect touch above the antique white chest we found at Scott’s Antique Market.

One of the other small items I kept after the house was complete.  This funny little dog.  Someone along the way broke his leg and glued it back on.  He added the perfect bit of southern character to the coffee table.  He now lives on my desk at the Tracery studio.

All photos by Laurie Glenn of Southern Living.

Everyone have a great weekend!

{2012 Southern Living Idea House} through our eyes, Living Room

Bess here again to share another ‘behind the scenes’ look at the Southern Living Idea House. For all of you who have the publication-you did get to see the majority of the Living Room. What you don’t realize about homes that are published is that a certain area can have one of the most amazing things/items/collections in the entire space, but if the photographer can’t get a good shot of it then it will not be published. There is an amazing piece by artist Courtney J. Garrett  behind the sofa that fell into that category & we had to share it regardless ( image below).  The piece on the mantel of the old house is Courtney’s as well.
