Chapel Hill Part 4

To wrap up the tour of our Chapel Hill design we have all the other rooms in the home.  I could not think of an overriding theme so there you go… Just photos!  Enjoy!

P.S.  The striped fabric at the reading nook is our custom fabric:  Fluting in color:  Citron.  It is available as premade drapes, pillows and by the yard!

Chapel Hill Home Part 3

Every time I look at the photos of this home I reminded how much I love it.  In this post let’s focus on the master bedroom.  In master bedrooms we  design them to be serene retreats.  When you have an active household like this family a retreat becomes a very special place.  In this room we mixed whites, silvers, light steel blue, lucite and leather.  We also really wanted the art to become a statement which it is in this soft space.

Until next time…

Have you visited the new Tracery?

Hi Friends! Happy 1st day of summer! We are settling in quite well at our new space in Inlet Beach (Just around the corner from Rosemary) and we hope you’ve had the chance to stop by!

It’s been a very busy but great summer so far at Tracery! We’re keeping the new shop bright and colorful and you should really come check it out, weather visiting during your summer beach vacation or a close neighbor. (and of course, you can’t forget about our Rosemary location either!! You’ll see a little something different at each location so they’re worth the visit for sure!)

We’ve gotten lots of great new items in I thought I’d give you a peek at what’s going on over here in Tracery world. Stay tuned this summer, we will be having some fun events in the books starting in July. We hope to see you there!

7We are loving our new line of Rosham Beaux lighting. Goes along pretty well with our local Sherry Sandquist artwork!11Yummy new candle scents!shop

Don’t forget about all of the custom Tracery fabric and furniture we have available!

Chapel Hill Part 2- Heart of the Home

The heart of this home like so many homes is the kitchen and surrounding rooms.  In this home designed by Dixon Kirby we (AK and myself) designed the interiors to be beautiful and work for a busy family of 7.  All the upholstery in the family room is upholstered in outdoor fabrics for durability.  The pool is in the courtyard just outside the room which was another reason for the durability of the fabrics.  But we didn’t want the room to “look durable”  so we incorporated fun prints and custom printed ottomans to finish off the design.  The kitchen and breakfast room are beautiful spaces that are perfect places for the family to gather.

Part 3 Master Bedroom is up next.  You can see this entire house in Southern Home Magazine.  This is a new magazine and this is it’s second issue.  Pick one up at your local newsstand.

Chapel Hill home part 1

We designed a home for a family in Chapel Hill, NC last year.  We had a great time working with our client (you have to love  great client) and Dixon Kirby the architect/builder.  I will break this home up into a few posts.  This first post includes the foyer, dining room, gallery, and ,my favorite, the music room.  We loved the mix of traditional and modern in this home designed for a great family.  You can imagine the music room with one of the children taking piano lessons or a chic cocktail party.  That is what is why we love this house so much.  It’s design straddles the line of elegance and livability.  Take a look for yourself on our blog or pick up a copy of Southern Home magazine where the house is featured in their spring issue!  Watch for the follow up posts on this home!

A few photos from the Coastal Living 2015 Beach Cottage

Hi y’all!  Just sitting here…. Actually sitting at my kitchen island binge watching Blacklist if I am honest. I thought I would share a few photos from our Coastal Living Beach Cottage Renovation from last year.  The pace was a little crazy to say the least and thank goodness we had the team at Artisan with us to build our addition and renovate the existing cottage.  With the team from Coastal Living of Nicole and Amy I always had someone to call on along the way.  We (my husband and I) bought the beach cottage in late March and we were contacted by Coastal Living during our permitting process and in the end our new house was the Coastal Living Beach Cottage (we now live in the cottage). The House opened for tour early October and ended Thanksgiving weekend.  It was a crazy fun process.  This is our third idea house project.  Our first 2 were with Southern Living Magazine in 2009 and 2012.  Back to the photos.  Here are some of my favs from the project.  Enjoy!
