“we’re gonna have the hap, hap, happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny &#$&#*&$ Kaye. And when Santa squeezes his fat white #*#(*& down that chimney tonight, he’s gonna find the jolliest bunch of a#$^#*$*# this side of the nuthouse.”

Classic Clark Griswold!!! Best holiday movie ever Merry Christmas to you all!

For Day 3, we asked you to tell us about your most memorable gift. We think the hugs and kisses go to you, Molly!

I need a hug and a kiss, because the most memorable gift I got was a scale from my husband!

Too many to mention….lining the kids up on the stairs for a photo before they come down on Christmas morning; sleepy eyed and all. It’s even more funny now that they are grown. Hoping to add little ones to the images one day….

For Day 5, we asked what name you’d give an Elf! Congrats to Carol Ann, our winner of the set of votives! (We think anyone who rescues animals deserves to be the winner!)

A new little elf has just joined our family—the four-legged, furry kind of elf—and his name is George. Except he’s really not very little. 60 lbs, still growing, rescued from a shelter and shedding hair faster than a Christmas tree sheds needles. This
elf, like most elves I know, is one big ball of fun.

On Day 6, we asked what was on the top of your list to Santa this year. It goes without saying, we agree with many of you and all want peace for everyone. Especially those affected by the Newtown, CT tragedy last week. Our thoughts and prayers are with those familes.

So congratualtions, Casey! You were the winner of the precious sea bird jar! We hope through all the hustle and bustle of the holidays, everyone can remember the true meaning of Christmas.

  1. My favorite meal to cook for my family during the holidays would have to be Christmas morning…..orange danish by Pillsbury DoughBoy! My Mom always had coffee cake for us growing up…..easy to make, the kids are so excited they don’t even know what they are eating.

  2. Our favorite meal is a casual, cozy, relaxed morning brunch. We usually make a version of baked french toast (blueberry cream cheese french toast with lemon blueberry sauce is a favorite!), fresh fruit salad, and yummy homemade mochas. It’s a sweet time to relax and visit with family and linger over warm coffee drinks. It’s a real joy…the cooking is done the night before and no one is in a rush. It’s just about connecting with loved ones.

  4. Our holiday meals, from cocktails to desserts, are from the recipes of the special women in our lives who have passed. It’s a beautiful reminder of how much they meant to our family.

  5. My favorite Christmas meal to prepare is the one with everyone in the kitchen helping. Doesn’t matter what it is we are preparing. just the doing it together. I know that sounds way too Hallmark but it’s true. I do a lot of cooking during the holidays but cooking is not my favorite, so when we all do it together we have fun, laugh and just enjoy each others company! Merry Christmas!
