A home should welcome it’s occupants as well as its visitors.  The first impression of a home hints at what is beyond.  Here are a few of our favorites entries we have designed over the years.

Before and Afters: Southern Living 2012

Here is the second post of our new before and after series.  Remember the 2012 Southern Living Idea House we designed?  I just received some of the before photos from our friends over at Historical Concepts.  Historical Concepts was the architect for this renovation addition along with John Bynum Homes.  This project has so many moments it will have to have a second post.  Here are a few of my favorite moments in the project.

inspiring images

Hi y’all, Bess here! As soon as Paige returns from Atlanta she & I are hoping on a plane bound for Missouri and we’ll spend a few days up there. In the past few days I’ve noticed that images of cabins, wooded areas and anything with a hint of ‘Americana’ have really been catching my eye. Usually this time of year I’m drawn more to bright floral images and serene seascapes with the excitement of Spring in the air.  However, this year I am excited to see a region of our country I have never experienced first hand.

Many of you never get to see any ‘idea images’ we use in the beginning stages of our projects so I thought I would use some of my favorite images as of late to share a fun twist on that concept. We all need an inspirational kick in the pants sometimes and to step away from the computer and experience something new & different.

Hope everyone has a great & adventurous…or at least inspiring weekend!

where is everyone?

If you frequent this blog then you may have noticed a recent dip in activity. Our apologies! However, now that Summer has passed we are all taking full advantage and getting a few things done. Check out what we have been up to….

Paige recently spent some time in New Orleans soaking up all of the Old Southern grandeur.

NYC 140

Bess took a quick little trip to New York.

Anna Kay is in Chicago at the moment.

Doug has been doing a lot of this [above image from here]! Moving is so stressful, but for us designers there is definitely a slight adventurous air to it. Hopefully Doug will share a few sneaks into his new place??
