We are sooooo excited about the 2012 Southern Living Idea House which is open to the public now for tours. Visit Southern Living’s website for more info on tour dates and time. The house will be featured in the August issue of the Southern Living magazine. We will let you know when it is released. Here a few detail shots from around the house. We can’t wait for you to see the entire house.
These are our pillows that are made from our custom line of fabric. The pillow on the right is a mitered stripe fabric named fluting color driftwood. In the photo you can see a peak at the white chesterfield sofa.
Theseare custom shadow boxes we designed to display the collection of antique keys we found while out looking for vintage and antique pieces for the home.
He is just to cute for words. I think he needs a name…. maybe Ned.
Now for looking back….
In 2009 we designed the Idea House for Southern Living in Cinnamon Shore which is located in Port Aransas, Texas. We had a great time and loved working with the Southern Living team so we were excited to come back in 2012. In case you weren’t following us back then here are a few of our favorite shots from the 2009 Southern Living Idea House.
And this photo we have seen crop up all out there in blogland and pinterest. We STILL love the saffron barn door. Don’t you?
We cant’ wait to share more from this year’s idea house later this month. We hope you had a great 4th of July!
Hi Y’all, Bess here to share a quick peek at a house Paige & I have been working on in Cinnamon Shore. It’s on the Gulf Coast in Port Aransas, Texas and is going to be a great family friendly beach house. I made a trip out in April to check on a few things so here are pictures from that trip.
Love how the exterior colors turned out.
Interior doors waiting to be installed-great ‘x’ detail.
The view from the kitchen-lots of great sunsets to be enjoyed here!
Finalizing a few details….
It’s also next door to the 2009 Southern Living Idea House, ‘Tarpon Run’. We love this budding coastal community.
Last week we showed you a sneak peak of the home we were designing in Texas. If you missed it check it out here
. We love soothing shades of blues and greens. This home is full of them! The name of the house is SeaGlass so it should have lots of seaglass colors. This beach house is almost finished (but not quite) but we wanted you to see what Bess and I did all last week on the other side of the Gulf of Mexico. Once the last details are finished we will show you the final product. Hope you enjoy!
The finished dining room! This room is just flooded with light!
We selected bar stools that have limed oak seats and back and steel frame.
Check out sunset from the second floor porch. Wow! The view was just amazing!
I was hangingg the sand dollars really early one morning in the Master Bath. (I can't believe I am showing you this photo)
The guest bedroom. We painted the wood wall behind the bed alternating white and aqua striped.
As the construction is finished in the other parts of the home we will show you more photos! It is coming together! It was really fun to go to Texas to work on installing the furniture for the home. We worked on the drawings, finishes, and furniture over the past year with the family over the phone and email. It was really great to finally meet! I hope you enjoyed the tour…more to come…
