Ceiling in process

While I have been in Aspen for an install this week our other projects continue. I just received a photo from our finisher. She has been working on a closet ceiling on one of our projects. I could not wait to share the progress photos! She did a fantastic job! The finished project will be ready over the next few weeks. I will share the finished project then. The chandelier will hang over the island in the center of the closet.

We hope y’all had a great Thanksgiving! We did! Here are a few things going on around here lately…

We watched sunsets…

and more sunsets..

We received awesome photos from one of our contractors showing us the progress of one of projects.

We spent time with family. (this is one of my very sweet nephews)

We ate. (these are Blaine’s famous yeast rolls!)

We had our annual thankful Thanksgiving toast at sunset.

We even attended Christmas parades!

A couple of us went shopping.

I set up a drink table on the front porch of my house for Thanksgiving. We had 34 to our house. It was a great gathering of friends and family.

We worked on tile selections for new projects.

And we shopped for antiques! I love this chair!

Well, that is it for here lately. We hope all of y’all had a great time over thanksgiving. We definitely did.

BTW… If you follow me on instagram sorry for some of the repeat pics of thanksgiving!

P.S. I forgot to include this photo. I did not spend Thanksgiving with all my family, only part of it. But I loved seeing this photo on thanksgiving day of my dad and nephew on a walk. This is what holidays are about.

[tracery tips] best whites

To this day one of the most asked questions about our work is what paint colors we use. We love white-if you haven’t noticed. White interior-white exterior-white mill work….black & white, green & white…..we love it all! Below are a few our favorite whites that we have used over & over again that you will definitely want to file away for your next big project.

Benjamin Moore China White

This is probably our most used white and for good reason. Here you can see that it has a warmer almost gray undertone that makes a room feel clean & cozy. We used this color through out the Lake Martin residence below. The all white scheme lends the spotlight to the detail & textures with in the space and not just colors & patterns.

Benjamin Moore Decorator’s White

Decorator’s White is another tried & true classic interior white. It’s bright & clean making it the perfect white to bring new life to an old space as you can see from the Rosemary Beach renovation we did below. This is also the perfect white to reflect the perfection of a sunny day through statuesque windows. The Rosemary Beach Private Residence that is featured in Veranda this month soaks up the Florida sun through it’s expansive windows. Pick up a copy (on stands now!) to enjoy the rest of the home.

Restoration Hardware Buttermilk

We love so many of Restoration Hardware’s paint colors-they truly have developed a new range of classics. A few years back their Buttermilk was the perfectly warm white for this private residence in The Retreat. It’s warm with out any taupe/yellow undertones. It’s technically in the ‘Butter’ collection at Restoration Hardware, but after using it for the majority of the interiors in this space we beg to differ. This white will make your home feel warm & cozy.

Sherwin Williams Pearly White

And Pearly White from Sherwin Williams is to soon be your new favorite white-we promise. We loved it so much that the majority of the interiors of the 2012 Southern Living Idea House in Senoia, Ga. is painted this color. We are sorry-but the photo below is the only interior shot we can share. The issue will be out later this month-enjoy one more clue!

photoshoot with VIE

Hi y’all! It’s Bess here and I’m writing you from the Houston Hobby Airport en route to an amazing house we are working on in Cinnamon Shore in Port Aransas, Texas. This week is an ideal example of why I love my job. You are never 100% sure of what the next day may bring and whatever you do…..know to always expect the unexpected. Paige and I spent Monday with the wonderful team at VIE magazine styling shots for their July/August issue. This was a little out of our realm of ‘ordinary’ as we were styling picnics and fun outdoor activities up & down 30A. We were outside soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the company of a team that works at a pace similar to ours on install days. Enjoy a few behind the scenes shots I took throughout the process.

Pretty picnic in Rosemary Beach...that started at 7am!

Paige's interview at the Alys picnic shoot.

Almost too pretty to eat.

Lisa Burwell & Ainsley Rogers (both of VIE) plotting the next shot.

A bright pop of orange on a sunny day.

Happy Friday, yall! It’s Bess here and I’ve been on an orange kick as off late. Which, by the way, almost resulted in this post being titled ‘Orange you glad it’s Friday’. Cheesy, I know. This latest color ‘kick’  is best witnessed by taking a glance around my house…

Scented Citronella Candle from Tracery. They smell amazing & keep the bugs off! Of course I had to take one home for a test run 🙂 Available in orange blossom (orange), lime verbena (lime), fresh rain (aqua) & island coconut (white). They are $26.00 each.

Fun necklace I picked up in New Orleans a few weeks ago!

My Bed: New pillow front & center from Tracery Rosemary (16x24 $86.00). Lamps with burlap shades from Home Goods & shams from Anthro.

I even have an orange striped rug in my Living Room-which was much to messy to be photographed this week! Paige was feeling the same way a few weeks ago with {Tangerine}.  Hopy everyone has a bright & happy weekend!

The 2012 Pantone color of the year is Tangerine.  Click {here} to find out more.  I love to read about the color of the year then see it show it in fashion and home decor.  Sometimes the color of the year is not my favorite color but this year we were excited!  We are working on a project right now with Tangerine in the living space.

We love the Kelly Werstler fabric Trellis by Schumacher…. don’t you?  This is our first time using it in the “tangerine” color.

In the same room we are using this tangerine stripe (these fabrics with be mixed with linen and white)

The home in Alys Beach will be finished in about a month.  We will show you the finished product after the install!

Here is another tangerine pallette that is pretty… not for any particular project.  It is just a nice start to a room.

All of this makes me want a tangerine swimsuit for the beach… maybe while I am wearing it I can drink a drink that fits the color….

Doesn’t this color just make you smile?

Happy Monday!
