  1. My favorite memory is of my family laughing at me about a 5 minute video that I took of the beach on my iphone during our family’s mini-vacation so that when I was back home, land-locked, I could still hear and see the beach to bring me some peace and sanity. That video has come in handy a couple of times!

  5. Without a doubt, my favorite 2012 summer memory was my son’s wedding!! So many wonderful family memories were made that day!! I also have to say, however, that as a newbie to the blog world, I have enjoyed relaxing while catching up on the Tracery blog. Love your inspirational words!! Thanks so much!!

  6. My very favorite summer memory is this past July when the whole family stayed for an entire week in a lovely house right in the center of Rosemary. The pool, the beach, and the afternoon and nightly walks to the town square, where we inevitably ended up at the snowcone stand or Sugga’s or the Sugar Shack. And we loved making visits to all of the shops in Rosemary and Seaside, including your own Tracery store. And we still talk about our favorites in the showhouse down the street from us. Even though I live on an island on the Atlantic, we love your part of the world!

  7. My favorite memory of this fabulous summer is watching my 7 year old princess skip down the beach for her first time ever at the ocean… She danced to her own music and kicked at each wave… seeing the joy and happiness in every hop was amazing. It was a cold and windy day, but there was no way I was going to leave early… Even though I’m not a beach fan to any extent… it made me fall in love with the sand , the waves, and every bit of my little girl.

  8. My favorite memory from this past summer would have to be off shore fishing my husband, my dad, and my brother-in-law in Savannah. My husband is a third year law student (almost there!) and he had gotten a summer internship in Savannah! We were excited but sad because that meant we had to spend the summer apart… We live in Athens and I have full time job…weird they don’t just give the summers off! j/k. Anyway, my parents decided to rent a boat and spend fathers day weekend in Savannah to make it easier on my husband. The entire boat trip was a hoot! We didn’t catch very much…a few sharks and a few fish but it is by far one of my favorite memories from this summer.

Would love to win and proudly wear all the Tracery gifts!

  9. This is a quite simple memory. I think sometimes the simple ones are the best. My little boys are still at the age where I can get them to lie down for a nap. After a long morning of play mom was exhausted and though they would not admit it they were too. On the days we had played hard with every fiber of our being that afternoon we would snuggle up in Mom and Dads king size bed for a long nap. Three peas in a pod we called ourselves. I would make up elaborate naptime stories of two princes on a quest and they would listen as if it were the most interesting story in the world . I will always treasure these sweet times and hope they do as well.

  12. Good Morning,

My favorite summer memory was sitting on the beach with my 3 teenage daughters. We had a wonderful discussion about life since my oldest daughter(18) was heading off to college this fall. It was a delightful and surreal afternoon. I thought to myself: I just was rocking this sweet baby in my arms…Wasn’t I??? Anyway the crash of the waves and the smell of the ocean reminded me that Life does move on and it keeps getting better and better!! ❤

  13. My favorite summer memory this year has been helping my 23 year old daughter purchase her first home. She discovered the low interest rates allow her to own cheaper than renting. She closes soon and is beginning to think about all the excitement of decorating. She is checking blogs and I actually observed her reading her first Southern Living magazine (been a subscriber her entire life) and she was really interested in the idea house. I think she needs your help to decorate on a dime!!!

  14. Pretty cliche to say that my favorite summer memory was a trip to the beach, but I figured you guys would know how special a vacation is along 30-A. And how lucky we are to have it just four hours away! OK, maybe five hours, but when I’m heading south to the beach from B’ham, I tend to have a lead foot.

The history is amazing, but my favorite part of the trip was taking pictures of the achitecture and the Tuscan countryside. I am building on the farm where I grew up and I am excited about incorporating what I saw while on my wonderful trip. The 2 weeks I spent in Italy this summer, 2012, will never be forgotten.

  16. Ok, so this year my family did not get to go on a vacation due to work loads by both me and my husband. So, there was not really much to report on for us as a family. However, the highlight for me would be touring the SL Idea House 2012. I live just outside Senoia and decided to go on the tour. Let me just say it is even MORE awesome in person as in the pictures! I love that house, and informed my husband it is a good thing we had finished building our home, because I would SO have to get the plans and build it. I’m sure he was glad, because he knows that I really mean it.

  20. My fav memory this summer is when my very best friend from childhood came to visit me in San Diego and we spent the days doing all the things we did when I used to vacation with her family here many years ago. There is nothing like treasured friendships that stand the test of time! I guess you can go back in time…

  21. My favorite summer memory actually started with panic and ended with relief and a bit of a chuckle. Our new orange tabby cat went missing after some contractors had been in our house replacing the downstairs bath tub faucet. They had to cut a hole in the drywall behind the tub in order to access the plumbing. Now you know where this is going – after a few hours of searching outside for our cat I heard some scratching and a faint meow coming from the wall behind the tub. My husband cut the drywall, our cat popped out unharmed (thank goodness!), and the contractor gave us a “feline entrapment” discount on our invoice!

We toured the Coastal Living idea house and stopped by your shop. It’s such a beautiful place. Your so lucky to be able to call it home!

  24. My favorite Summer 2012 memory would have to be my “nesting movement”. My entire summer off from teaching, I spent my days decorating the living room and nursery in anticipation of our baby girl’s arrival in a little over a month. I spent countless hours teaching myself how to sew pinch-pleated curtains, sewing and re-sewing crib bumpers, pillows & more curtains. It seriously feels like that is all I did this summer, but I loved every minute of it and am now ready for baby in the abode. 🙂

  28. My favorite summer 2012 memory was our 8th wedding anniversary at the end of June. Two days before it my husband told me that maybe we shouldn’t exchange gifts this year. Well of course I had already ordered him a pair of very special cuff links. I thought maybe he was kidding but sure enough the day came and all I got was flowers (they were very pretty, thorough). Then, just before we were leaving for our anniversary dinner, we got a call from our adoption agency that we had been matched with a beautiful baby girl! We spent our entire dinner pouring over paperwork and trying to translate it So now my husband tells me all I got him was cuff links while he got me a baby! Hah! But it’s a priceless memory and we can’t wait to travel and meet her in a few weeks.

We hadn’t seen many of them in years! We danced, ate delicious food, laughed & celebrated the love of these two great people. I will never forget it!!

  31. We experienced the greatest weather at Watercolor in early June. The day before we were to head home, it poured (rained) for several hours–forcing everyone to the porch for games. It was so nice to smell and listen to the rain while surrounded by friends and family. Its the little moments. 🙂

  32. Pontoonin’ with my guys this summer is a favorite memory for me. My son had graduated HS and would soon be leaving for college. My husband and I cherished every moment as we fished together, jumped off the boat to swim and carry on like we had all done when he was little. The picnic on board where we pulled up under some mossy oaks for shade. That moment is frozen in time for me—the sunshine and blue skies, the smell of sunscreen and fish, Jimmy Buffett on the radio in harmony with the crickets and frogs… and finally, the permanent grin on a teenage boy’s face that would keep a momma happy in those first days and weeks of “empty nest” this fall~~

  34. Our families favorite memory of summer 2012 is our son outgrowing his peanut allergy! Drew is 8 years old and he had his first ever peanut butter cup, M&M’s, Nutella, and an ice cream drumstick! He is looking forward to birthday parties at school now that he can have the treats that Mom’s bring in to share with the class and I no longer will have to send him with Epi pens and worry when he is away from home. We feel very blessed and will continue to support the search for a cure for food allergies.

  35. My favorite memory so far of this “2012” summer, was a day in July,an extremely HOT day @ that, when I took a “me” day! Rather than being outside by the pool or doing some yard work,I decided to pass..I could do that anytime and who wants to have a day to themselves sweating perfusely, not I. I decided to do some shopping for myself, which never happens when u have a 4 year old lil’ girl and my fiancee’ and I always shop for her:) I actually had a stress free day enjoying taking my time looking around @ all the fun trends and colorful clothes for this season, along with the accessories and the cute sandles that I long await all year to wear! I also loved the latest purses, smells of perfumes, candles, and lotions…the summer editions are always my favs!! I had a great day shopping alone and taking my time looking at everything colorful that caught my eye! I love fashion, decorating, shopping, making DIY projects, and taking pictures…it was a great day!! ~God Bless~

  36. Summer 2012 has been the best laziest summer ever! The highlight was driving our daughter up to camp at the university of Georgia and stopping by the Southern Living Idea House in Senoia. It was so exciting to see it finished, I had drove past it the year before while under construction. I love that little town and all the shops! I was lucky enough to live in Fayette county a few years back before getting transferred to Orlando.

Summer 2012 allowed us to spend one-on-one time with each of our 4 (grown) children – one before he moved to Nevada, one over drinks on a rare night together (even though she lives here), one before he went back to college and one after she returned from the Olympic Trials and South Africa before she went back to college. They are all so unique and ……so loved!

  38. We made a lot of great memories this past summer but my all-time favorite was a simple 4th of July spent at home with family and good friends. We enjoyed our small town festival, grilled hamburgers, ate ice cream and set off fireworks in our front driveway, just the way I remember it being when I was a little girl. I’m so grateful to get to share the simple moments in life with my two boys because I know it’s the simple moments they will remember the most.
