  1. White lights, white lights, white lights! SImple candles in the window and white lights on the trees. Colored lights drive me crazy! But my 5yr old loves them, so we do enjoy driving the streets of our town to look at the tackiest!

  2. Most definitely white lights! Last year I made the mistake of going out and buying new lights and went for the LED. I decorated the tree and the lights were so bright I couldn’t stand it. The next day I undecorated the tree, took down the LED lights and returned them. I most definitely prefer the soft white lights!!
I love mercury! This year I am going for a simple Christmas look with mercury, driftwood, gold and silver.

  3. I prefer white, but caved in this year due to begging from my 8-year old son. The colored LED lights make UFO-like shapes on my ceiling, but they are growing on me…

  4. Love that sparkle beauty! As a child I had colored lights, then when I moved out and got my own tree, I decorated with the popular white lights for 15 years. Until this year, when my bright-eyed 6-year old boy asked me why we had all boring yellow lights (I guess they don’t look white to him). So we have switched to a perfect combo of half white and half multi-colored lights mingled throughout our garlands and tree. It’s happy, nostalgic and my little one is estatic about our colored lights! So, I guess I have to say, that my new favorite is this perfect combo of both lights.

  5. I’ve batted that one back and forth, but today is my birthday and I’m feeling nostalgic. I’m the same age my grandmother was when all of us cousins got together for our large annual family Christmas celebration. All of the girl cousins usually received the same comb and brush set, the boys, well, I’m thinking something practical, like underwear. What I do remember is that the small house was warmed by a pot belly stove, and we had lots of excited anticipation of opening our gifts that awaited us under the chopped-from-the-field tree that was laden with the old-fashioned multi-colored lights. I’m fondly longing for those lights again. Or maybe it was just the warm feeling of love. Whatever the case, those two memories mingle together in my mind to make me remember the true meaning of Christmas….Love.

  6. White lights definately!! So classic. My husband and children are right the opposite. They do not think its festive unless you have colored lights that blink. Usually we rotate years for the white lights vs. colored lights but this year we just gave in and put up two trees. Seems to be the better way to go. Love your store BTW.. Have been vacationing in your area since I was a child. See you in the summer.

  7. My favorite is white lights, but my kids (and husband) love colored lights. So we compromise with two trees, one with white and one with colored.

  8. I’ve been putting colored lights on my Christmas tree since I was a little girl, but this year I changed it up and went with all white lights with blue and silver ornaments. It really helped add some class to my desperate futon-full living room… haha! So white lights win this year!

  9. White Lights.., they are classic!
Although my 3 year old just asked if we can hang colored lights next year..,So I’ve got a year to change his mind (if he doesn’t change mine first:)

    Thanks for the giveaways!

  10. I love white lights on my main tree, but I love to put colored lights on my kids tree and put their ornaments that they have made in school.

  11. Assuming we are talking about white lights on our trees, I like the white lights, too. Accenting with a wide rich (solid) colored ribbon draped through the tree and a collection of beautiful colored ornaments complete an amazing tree that young and old will like.

  12. I like both. I have a flocked tree in the living room with white lights and ornaments in blue, green, silver, gold and glass. The “regular tree” in the family room has both white and colored lights with all different colored ornaments.

  13. White is our neighborhood favorite! My sweet neighbor, who coordinated the Lighted Christmas Trees on Virginia and Pine Haven Drive, polled the neighborhood to see what we would all wanted to use. Would it be White or Colored Lights? Well, the vote was close but White Lights were the favorite! Thanks to our organized and energetic neighbor we all have a little bling in our yards!

  14. For years and years, it was tiny white lights for me. It isn’t about me anymore, so colored it is, although I do love the big screw in colored lights that I snagged a few years ago.

  15. I was married in 1975 and it has always been white lights for Christmas for us. I LOVE them. The simple things—– white pine boughs, pinecones, votive candles, birch logs, and white lights—— are “Christmas” to me. White lights seem to go best with nature! I love ALL things white……even snow!!!!! 🙂

  18. Weird, I know, but we use white lights outside and colored lights on our (inside) tree. My children would think I was crazy if I ever changed that. Tradition outranks “style” sometimes!

  19. White for sure! My husband and I argue about this every year. He likes tinsel and flashing colored lights, while I prefer the clean, bright twinkle of white lights! And since I’m a “good girl” at Christmas time I always get what I want!

  20. White lights inside. I have to comprise outside since my husband loves all things cheesy when it comes to Christmas. If he had his way we would have huge blow up snowman, etc on the lawn. Luckly red and whites are enough to make him happy outside.

  21. I had always thought that white lights were so beautiful and could not wait for my first home and first tree to decorate….after a couple of years our first child came along…she and I had just finished decorating our tree and stepped back to admire it….and I asked her if she thought it was beautiful?and she asked me with the wisdom of a child if when we got rich we could buy some colored lights because they are so pretty!!! Isn’t that what Christmas really is about? Children, love, family and helping others….needless to say, I bought colored lights the very next day and put them on my tree!!! The true moral of this story is that she grew up to be an interior designer and now tells me everything I do wrong decorating my tree!!!!!!! LOL!!! :)….but, the best part is that I can usually talk her into doing it for me and Tracery certainly knows how to bring the holidays to life!!!!

  22. I’ve always been a white lights girl….so simple and sophisticated. My daughter on the other hand, loves multi colored lights so for her Christmas tree in her room, we bought colored lights. They are actually growing on me and who knows, maybe multi colored lights will decorate our outdoor tree next year.
