[local love] Queen Bee Cupcakes

With a motto like ‘Let them eat (cup)cake!’-who wouldn’t be in heaven when stopping in at Queen Bee Cupcakes?  Located in Seaside, FL (next to the Seaside Post Office) this is one vintage airstream you should check out.  The bright yellow & white awning is an indication that you have stumbled upon something amazing and you can’t just stroll by.  Owner Jennifer Green has created an amazing menu featuring hand-made, hand-sifted, old-fashioned cupcakes based on favorite family recipes.  The staples are a variety of Vanilla Bean & Chocolate cakes with deliciously decadent Pink Buttercream or Chocolate Dream icing. Another everyday favorite is the Sweet & Tart, also known as Key Lime. Feeling a little hankering for holiday treats?  Try her Red Velvet or Pumpkin Spice.  The specials change daily and you never know what fabulous surprise she will whip up next. You can call 850.231.1480 for daily specials and to place special orders.

To make things even sweeter [pun intended], Queen Bee Cupcakes can cater your next event!  Jennifer’s cupcakes are customizable and she offers a huge variety of cake & icing flavors, whipped up fresh & just for you. Call to place a special order and pick it up, or the Queen can come to you and set all the delicious treats up with special trays and labels.  Queen Bee actually baked a special bite-size batch of Salted Caramel Cupcakes for our Southern Living Release Party here at the shop.

Looking for a special momento to take back after a visit to the SoWal area?  Queen Bee Cupcakes has a great gift assortment as well: t-shirts, hats, magnets, cookbooks, cards, doggie toys and even custom Queen Bee jewelry hand-crafted [just like her cupcakes] by a local artist.

  1. Airstreams always intrigue me. They are so different from anything seen in the UK and were so advanced compared to British ‘caravans’.They had mini baths whilst ours had no facilities at all!. A friend renovated one but has had difficulty on occasions negotiating our narrow country lanes.
