Doug traveled to Lake Martin on Saturday afternoon to help prepare one of our projects for a weekend reception. He took a few photos while he was there and of course we want to share them with you! We completed this house mid-Summer of this year and have been working on finishing touches ever since. You may recall seeing some empty house photos of this home [here] and some photos from the install [here]. Paige and Anna Kay have worked for a couple of years now planning, designing and finally procuring and installing every detail and item in this home and the results are stunning.
Located on Lake Martin near Alexander City, Alabama this home is a beautiful retreat for a large family who wanted lots of room to relax and spend time together. Paige and Anna Kay crafted a soothing palette of white, linen and pale blue which contrasts in a very sophisticated way with the rough timber and stone elements that reference the home’s exterior. Massive walls of windows invite the panoramic views of the Lake inside.
Furnished with a collection of new upholstered pieces and French and Italian antiques, elements like raw wood, white ironstone, polished nickel and galvanized metal are repeated throughout the main portion of the home.
Paige worked one on one with the home’s builder to perfect the curving staircase wall.
We’ll be posting photos of the home’s kitchen and a few of the bedrooms later this week, check back for more.
Absolutely gorgeous!!! Beautiful work, Tracery

The most beautifully decorated homes are those that make one feel they could just curl up with a good book and rest anywhere. Textures long to be touched and used. You can almost hear the conversations and feel the warmth in these pictures. I love it.

I have an open loft area above our 20 x 40 great room that I want enclosed similar to the shuttered one featured in these pictures. Can you please offer any guidance in what to tell both the builder and architect? Did you use a certain company?
