New Orleans finds

[Antiques de Provence, Royal Street, New Orleans]

Paige was in New Orleans last week and came across a beautiful store we are excited to add to our list of places to shop!  The shop is called Antiques de Provence and is located on Royal Street in the French Quarter.  It’s full of beautiful French antiques, new and antique fountains and they carry the  fabulous LaCornue line of french ranges.  Lots of beautiful things to see…

This charming little Directoire ottoman would be perfect as extra seating or pulled up near a fireplace.

Look at this great polished iron garden table!  It’s perfect between two chairs, we love the idea of bringing pieces like this indoors.  The texture and finish is a great contrast to wood–painted or stained–and also pairs well with upholstery.

Such great surface texture!

Paige found this drop dead gorgeous Louis XVI settee in the shop, which is upholstered in Italian silk.  We’re considering it as a finishing touch for a vestibule space in a home we just completed.

That big stuffed seat cushion is perfection, isn’t it?

This 19th century Louis XV writing table would be a great nightstand or occasional table.  We love the ogee detailing along the edge of the legs and apron.

This set of garden chairs is perfect for extra outdoor seating.  And a set of 13 antique anything?  That’s very rare, as is the great French Grey color–we usually only see these in green.

There are many more beautiful things to see at Antiques de Provence.  Check it out for yourself the next time you are in New Orleans, or visit their website online [here].  Many thanks to Cindy and Caroline for all of their help.  [All photos courtesy of Antiques de Provence]
