Happy Monday everyone! Bess here with another ‘iPhone photo glimpse’ of the 2012 Southern Living Idea House in Senoia, Georgia. Below are a few of our personal shots of the Kitchen & Dining Rooms.

We loved the framed vintage map of Georgia hung just above two gingham aprons. The combination makes this space feel more lived in.

A combination of vintage Southern Living cook books, old rolling pins and various pieces of enamel & ceramic finds add a more collected feel to the open shelving. We love to use found pieces that give a space character.

Love the dining room! Beautiful!
I think using the IKEA cabinetry was a stroke of genius. Many have wondered (including myself) if they could be customized and incorporated into a kitchen design that has style and substance. I know there has been criticism for such all across the blogosphere. The whole point of an “idea” house is to give the average homeowner inspiration to create similar environments themselves. I personally would not want IKEA cabinets in my own home but can certainly see a place for them especially for first time buyers. The money saved on the cabinetry can be used for more upscale appliances etc. Thanks to you all we are using IKEA cabinetry in a cottage that we plan to flip that will most likely be purchased by a first time buyer. Beautiful job by the way on the entire design
Love the dining room! Is that paint pearl white?
Is the chandelier over the kitchen table available at Ballards?
The dining room lantern is from ballard.
